To open an EDI document:

1. Select File from the main menu, then select Open.
   
   
   
   
2. The following dialog box is displayed:

   

   Enter the following parameters in the dialog box:

   • EDI File.  Enter the full file path and name of EDI document to read.  Use the Browse button to browse the directory for the file to select.
   • SEF File.  Add all the Standard Exchange Format (SEF) files in the list box that will be used as implementation guidelines for EDI documents in the file specified above.
     • Add.  Add a SEF file to include in the list.
     • Remove.  Remove a SEF file from the list.
   • Use Standard Reference Library.  Check this box to use the implementation guidelines in the standard reference library.  If selected, the SEF files specified in the list box above will still be used first,  but if none are determined to be suitable guideline for the document then the implementation guidelines in the standard reference library will be used.  If you do not wish to use any SEF file and only wish to use the implementation guideline, then remove all SEF files in the list box above.

3. Verify that the configurations are also correct in the following tabs:
   
   
   • Open Options
   • Terminators
   • Acknowledgments

4. Press OK to start reading the file.
   
5. After reading the document, the results are displayed in the following views:
   
   
   • Document Screen Output
   • Messages
   • Standard Layout.
   • Acknowledgment.
   • File View.
